The handwriting was messy, and he didn’t know how he managed to find a pencil in that tiny space. A lot of it is slow and deliberately written. He had to crawl to the door, afraid that if he stood up after so long without a decent meal or water that his legs would just not work. His fingers hit sharp wire trying to push the note under the door, and a thin line of red appearing on is knuckles. He barely even noticed, as tame as that was compared to other wounds he’d had.

Slowly you lean your back against the door to his “block”. At first you’re pleased by what you read, but as he continues you get more and more angry.
How dare he - How dare he threat you? How dare he tell you how to treat him?! You’ve been in far more relationships than he has; how would he know the best way to run this?!
White psionics crackle around your head and hands, burning the paper up quickly and reflexively making you drop the plate. It tumbles to the ground and shatters, sending food flying in all directions.
You stalk off back down the hall.
Maybe he isn’t as good as you thought he was.
